Europe’s littlest princess has made her royal debut as she helped her mum and dad with a very special tradition.

Four month old Princess Ines of Sweden joined her parents, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia, as they opened up the doors of the Royal Palace for free visits as part of celebrations for their country’s National Day.

The royal family always open their palace to mark the special day which falls on June 6.

And Ines followed another family tradition on her royal debut. The little princess was dressed in a version of the blue and yellow national costume that the women in her royal family always wear on the day.

Princess Sofia, who carried her little girl in her arms for the brief appearance, was also in the outfit.

Meanwhile, second in line to the throne, Princess Estelle, had also been seen in national costume as the day dawned. As is now traditional, she starred in the first image of the royals on National Day. Estelle, 13, and her brother, Prince Oscar, 9, posed for a photo starting off the celebrations.

They are expected to join their parents, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, later for further events marking the National Day of Sweden.

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia will lead the family who are expected to come together for a concert as the day comes to an end.
