The royal wedding flowers that influenced Queen Camilla’s Coronation bouquet

Queen Camilla chose several of the flowers that she had in her wedding bouquet for the floral decorations at Westminster Abbey for the Coronation.

Her Majesty carried a posy containing auriculas and lily of the valley at the Service of Blessing that followed her civil marriage in 2005. Both blooms played a significant part in the floral decorations for the Coronation.

Both were chosen as part of the ‘wildflower’ meadow that adorned the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior for the service. The Tomb was also decorated with daffodils, bay and rosemary, the traditional symbol of remembrance.

Meanwhile, The King paid tribute to the couple’s wedding day with the floral selection for the Coronation.

The decorations in the Quire, where the majority of the Coronation service took place, included hellebores. These are one of His Majesty’s favourite flowers and he chose to wear them in his buttonhole on the day he married Queen Camilla in Windsor.

The floral decorations in Westminster Abbey were created by Shane Connolly who designed the flowers and decorations for the King and Queen’s marriage.

All the blooms were provided by Flowers from the Farm, a non profit organisation that champions artisan growers of cut flowers.

The Coronation took place on May 6th 2023.
