Waves Audio offers TrueVerb for FREE in Limited Time Offer

Free Kontaktina and Waves Audio are offering the TrueVerb plugin for free in a limited-time offer.

The reverb plugin (currently $35, list price $99) is a macOS and Windows release for VST, VST3, AU, and AAX.

TrueVerb is an OG plugin, as Waves dropped it back in 1997 as part of the Waves Native Power Pack.

To score the freebie, click the link to the Waves website below, log in and then click ‘Get TrueVerb free’. It will then produce a license key and add the verb to your account.

Once you have the license, you can then follow Waves’ nine-step guide to activating and installing your plugin, which starts with installing the free Waves Central app.

Waves Audio stated that the deal is only available for a limited time but did not specify exactly when the offer expires.

Waves Audio describes TrueVerb as a lush verb with fine control over early reflections.

The plugin has four sections, which are early reflections, reverb tail, EQ and damping.

This allows easy and separate optimization of the early reflections and tail. Adding to the customization options, the reflections and reverb can have independent frequency responses.

There’s a shelving filter for trimming the treble as it hits the reverb, providing smoother tails, while the low register cut before the early reflections can help clean up the mud.

There are also dual controls for controlling the damping in the low and high frequencies.

With the plugin having been around for so long, there are loads of examples on YouTube to hear how it stacks up.

Upon its release, TrueVerb was one of the leading reverb plugins thanks to the detailed editing options it offered.

I think we can agree that in the intervening 28 years, reverb plugin technology has moved forward a tad.

But hey, it’s free! I think it’s still worth picking up if you’ve been running with a no-frills reverb and want to get something with a bit more customization until the hood.

If you like Waves, then you’re in luck, as the developer is currently offering its entire plugin inventory on sale.

The discount varies by the plugin, with most price reductions above 70%.

Waves is also offering a ‘buy two get one free’ deal currently, with more than 100 plugins to choose from as the freebie. So, together with the sale, you can basically get three plugins for the price of one.
